Welcome to Friends of the Nickey Line website

Approximately 7 miles long, the Nickey Line footpath and cycle way in Hertfordshire is a former railway line (the Harpenden to Hemel Hempstead Railway).

The Nickey Line still links Harpenden, Redbourn and Hemel Hempstead but is used now by railway history enthusiasts, walkers and cyclists from many parts of the country. It was opened as a footpath /cycleway in 1985 so 2010 is our 25th anniversary!

Friends of the Nickey Line work to encourage use of the Nickey Line by local users and visitors.

Find out more about it and us here!
