Winter Work Programme Mid-term Report

Sadly the continuing necessary government action to control the spread of coronaviirus, together with the end of the year being very wet, has meant we have had to cancel a numberr of planned events

So what have we done? The scallops opposite Knot Wood have been cut, and the views re-established by reducing the height of the hedge. Hazel coppicing coninued opposite the scallops on the Knott Wood side, and following a successfiul application to The Conservation Volunteers we were granted 100 free trees, which  are being planted to thicken up the sparse hedges laid on both sides of the path below Knott Wood

The 'orchard' area close to Chequer Lane Redbourn has been cut by St A DC, and we plan in the next few weeks to replace two of the fruit trees which have died, to add to the four which which have got established

In Dacorum we have held two litter picks, and we are grateful to DBC for their support

We have also reacted to fallen trees and branches on the NL to get them cut and removed where possible
