Friends Work Party at Hunters Oak 15th March

Friends volunteers joined in our last full work party of the winter season (before we stop to avoid distrubing nesting birds) on Wednesday 15th March at Hunters Oak in Hemel Hemstead. The  much better weather helped to make it an enjoyable and productive day.

We worked towards the Three Cherry Tree Lane Bridge to the west, removing vegetation close to the path on both sides, whilst leaving the vegetation further back which screens the houses.

We also removed ivy from trees close to the Nickey Line alongside the private woodland to lighten the path and  to expose the wood for path users to better appreciate.

Litter was bad there and in 200m or so we collected 4 bags of general waste and 5 bags (6 if they were properly filled!) of recyclables as well as various plastic receptacles.

Thanks to our volunteers as always.
