Volunteer Work Party alongside Knott Wood, Tuesday 14 Nov '17 at 10am

We will return to the area alongside Knott Wood, where in late September Countryside Management Service held a massive work party, supported by the Friends, cutting and raking the scallops, coppicing to widen the same, and burning brash to prepare for hedge laying later this year.

Our task today is primarily to  reduce the hedge line at the scallops to enhance the views, but depending on the number attending, we may finish clearing and burning the brash obstructing where we intend extending the hedge laying on the west side of the pathway below Knott Wood

We will provide morning refreshments, tooling, gaunlets and protective gear. Stout footweaar essential, and bring a packed lunch if working into the afternoon

New volunteers are very welcome. One can stay as long as one so wishes, and any help is appreciated

If you intend coming, please contact Roger on 01582 763560 (email so we can bring the necessary tooling

Why not come along to one of our working parties and help with the management of the Nickey Line?

If you are interested, contact us with your details and we shall email you with future work parties
