Nickey Line
- To update and reproduce the
Nickey Line pamphlet
- To develop a Nickey Line
information website
- To improve signage

interpretation/information boards at strategic points
3 Activities for Friends
and Local Schools
- Conduct surveys amongst users of
the Line
- Install bird/bat boxes
- Photo competition
- Have guided walks
- Have volunteer work parties
- Hold a yearly event, e.g.
Sponsored Walk, Teddy Bears’ Picnic, Dog Day, Bike Day, etc
4 Community Links
- Meet with local schools and other
organisations that may be interested
- To work with appropriate funding
agencies
- To liaise with local councils
- Look for sponsorship for specific
projects
- Seek donations – financial,
equipment, furniture (eg seats/benches), flora - to improve the
environment of the Line
- Document the history of the
Nickey Line – make links with other community groups, eg Harpenden Local
History Society, local rail historians
