3 mile local history and nature return walk from Cherry Tree Lane Bridge, Saturday 3 August at 10am

Join our walk and discover the local history and nature along this rural section of the Nickey Line ( the old railway line between Hemel Hempstead and Harpenden) to just beyond the M1 tunnel and back.

Wear appropriate clothing and stout shoes, and bring a drink if it is hot

Annual Butterfly Walk, Sunday 21 July 2024 from 10.30 a.m.

For many years the Friends of the Nickey Line have run this butterfly walk.The Nickey Line is important as a greenway connecting various wildlife sites, and the Friends work parties have created fantastic habitat for butterflies, creating one of the best places to see butterflies in the district.

Meet in the car park at the bottom of Redbourn Lane at 10.30 a.m. prompt or, if walking from Harpenden, go to the nature interpretation board alongside Knott Wood at 10.45 a.m.

Wear stout footwear, and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. Bring a pair of short focus binoculars if you have them.The return walk from the car park is about 1 1/2 miles
