Roundwood Halt to Five Ways Surface Scraping from 9th August

The Roundwood Halt to Five Ways (Townsend Lane extension) junction will be having its surface scraped to remove the mud-prone layer starting 9th August. The Line will not be closed but you may be asked to avoid the work in progress safely.

The work is being funded by St Albans DC and organised by Herts Countryside Management Services. (Our thanks to both).
NB Friends of the Nickey Line have led the drive to improve this long section and we have worked closely with SADC and CMS on this. Funds are not around to resurface this section 'properly' yet but scraping should improve this stretch as it did in 2014 and hopefully we can avoid more scenes like we saw last winter.
