For many years the Friends of the Nickey Line have run this butterfly walk.The Nickey Line is important as a greenway connecting various wildlife sites, and the Friends work parties have created fantastic habitat for butterflies, creating one of the bast places to see butterflies in the district.
Meet the car park at 10.30 prompt., or if walking from Harpenden go to the nature interpretation board alongside Knott Wood at 10,45am
Wear stout footwear, and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. Bring a pair of short focus binoculars if you have them.

Spring is a wonderful time of year, and on this walk from Harpenden, starting from the Roundwood School Crossing on the Nickey Line, we will show you some of the wonderful ;local wildlife. The walk will take us along the Nickey Line and into some of the adjoining woodland, before returning to the start point, a distance of about 3 miles
Wear stout footwear, and clothing appropriate for the weather.

Tuesday, 16 April,. A litter pick along the Nickey Line between the Redbourn Lane roundabout (starting on the ramp side and covering the car park) and the ‘Aubrey Park Hotel access track’ (just West of the M1). Although the aim is to complete this, the distance may mean we arrange a follow-up to complete the pick.
Four volunteers only required to help.
Location for parking/meeting up (lift available from Harpenden) is Rebourn Lane car park at 9.30 am. Expect to be finished no later than 1.00 pm.
Please bring any required drink (biscuits provided) and gloves (if possible). Pickers, bags, etc, all provided.

The 2024 AGM will be held on 15th May at 19.30 at the Redbourn Parish Council offices. Historic films of the Nickey Line will be shown by Redbourn Museum after the AGM.
Light refreshments will be available and all are welcome.
