Personal Data Protection

Friends of the Nickey Line ask for and retain names and contact information from members so that we can send news updates, seek feedback on issues arising, or contact members about their specific interests. Personal information is held securely and not provided to third parties without permission. Members can cancel their membership or permission to be contacted at any time by emailing the request to friends@nickeyline.org.

Personal contact information may be held on non-members, such as local councillors, where they are believed to have a “legitimate interest” in the Nickey Line. Such non–members can cancel their permission to be contacted with news updates at any time by emailing the request to friends@nickeyline.org.

Friends of the Nickey Line follow General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) standards for personal data. Any complaints on the handling of personal data can be sent to friends@nickeyline.org or to the GDPR regulatory body.

Website Cookies

Our website uses cookies and on your first visit you will have been asked to consent to our use of cookies. Cookies are small text files which are downloaded onto your device when you visit our website. The cookie file is then sent back to us after each visit and, in our case, tells us what cookie preferences you have previously made.

Our main cookies are for analysis of our site usage and performance – these allow us to and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around our website when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way our website works, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily.

Articles on this site may occasionally include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
